Inspiration: Seeing Pink Torch flower at Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden. Location: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The story behind the design: Visiting Botanical Garden in Rio de Janeiro feels like being on another planet with all the curious textures and scents. Fascinating, chaotic and curious are words that came to mind while I walked through the garden in February 2022. Taking hundreds of reference photos for my possible designs, the tall and vibrant blooming Pink Torch got my attention. After sketching the flower in ink and watercolours, I created a digital version and transformed it into a bold tropical pattern. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Inspiration: My family's garden in Florianopolis. Location: Ingleses Beach, Florianopolis, Brazil. The story behind the design: February is an excellent month to see Brazil, not only to enjoy the carnival and hot weather but also to admire all the tropical fruits and flowers that are in season - an important reason to visit a country for a botanical artist like myself. Luckily for me, my in-laws have a beautiful garden full of trees and blossoms that inspired my tropical pattern collection. After filling a sketchbook with watercolour illustrations, I choose the most vibrant ones to compose these surface patterns. Available for licensing. Created in Photoshop from watercolour illustrations. Resolution: 300 dpi.

Inspiration: Observing ducks in London parks. Location: South-West London, UK. The story behind the design: One of my favourite things about living in London, is being in contact with nature, even in the busiest parts of the city. There is something special about the harmony between the wildlife and the buzzing energy of urban spaces. That is why during one of my walks, I couldn't pass by a beautiful, kaleidoscopic mandarin duck without getting inspiration for my new pattern collection. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Inspiration: Gorgeous view at the end of the Barra da Lagoa trail. Location: Barra da Lagoa, Florianopolis, Brazil. The story behind the design: In 2012 I decided to check a popular trail at the Barra da Lagoa beach. Passing by a few local hostels going up the hill the view was simply breathtaking. I took a photo on that day without imagining it would inspire my first abstract landscape painting and later in 2023 be transformed into a vibrant repeat pattern. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Inspiration: Colourful Azorean-style houses and gardens. Location: Ribeirão da Ilha, Florianopolis, Brazil. The story behind the design: While living and studying in Florianopolis, Ribeirão da Ilha has been one of my favourite places on the island. These charming houses inspired my first acrylic painting in 2013, and they continue to bring me joy. That's why revisiting the city in 2022 I took as many reference photos as I could to create this pattern collection. I chose to preserve the original colours of the houses and add a young papaya tree as a botanical symbol present in many local gardens. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Inspiration: Blooming daffodils in March. Location: Kew Gardens, London, UK. The story behind the design: Nothing gets me in the mood for Spring as seeing parks and gardens in London turn yellow with beautiful blooming daffodils, glowing under the first rays of the warm sun. St. James's Park, Battersea, Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are just a few places where people go to take photos of these beautiful flowers, and I'm not an exception. During one of my visits to Kew Gardens, while admiring the flowers, I got the idea to create a daffodils-inspired pattern. After doing a few sketches on location, I got a bouquet on my way home, and the first Daffodil pattern was born. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Enchanting Garden

Inspiration: British summer gardens. Location: Southfields, London, UK. The story behind the design: During the spring-summer of 2020, staying at home due to lockdowns, I, like many people in the UK, decided to enhance my garden and explore the variety of seeds available in local garden centres. Starting with daffodils in May, I've sketched flowers in my garden as they bloomed. Three years later, going through my old botanical sketchbook, I had an idea to digitalise my drawings and design a pattern collection inspired by British gardens, featuring flowers like dahlias, sunflowers, tulips and daffodils. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Inspiration: Spring flower bouquet. Location: London, UK. The story behind the design: The inspiration behind this surface pattern collection is simple. I was gifted a beautiful bouquet of light pink lilies, white stocks and chrysanthemums. The composition was so balanced and refined that I instantly decided to create a series of drawings inspired by the flowers while they were still alive and use the motifs to create a pattern. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.

Inspiration: Visual references of elegance and beauty. Location: V&A Museum, London, UK. The story behind the design: The idea to create an elegant surface pattern came to me on my way home from V&A Museum. Featuring a great collection of textiles, illustrations and objects of decor and fashion, this museum is one of my favourite places to visit in London whenever I'm looking for a new source of inspiration. I love the feeling of refined beauty and traditional forms of art combined with the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere of the building. This experience gave me the idea to gather things that I find beautiful in one pattern. Classic sculptures defining female beauty complemented with beautiful blooming magnolias and camellias. Created in Procreate. Resolution: 300 dpi. Available for licensing.
